Calcabir

 

“Calcabir” is a beer produced by “Birrificio Montegioco”*. Lungavilla pumpkin flesh is oven baked and then added (30%) to a barley malt wort. After a maturation process into stainless steel fermenters lasting 30 days, beer is bottled and re-fermented. The final result is a light beer (5% alcohol).

* “Birrificio Montegioco” (facebook page) is a brewery founded in 2005. The headquarters are located in Grue Valley, at the border between Piemonte, Liguria, Lombardia and Emilia Romagna (Northern Italy). Montegioco beers are exported to Europe and the USA. The brewery pays particular attention to the use of local crops (cherries, grapes..) for beer production.
